Maxwell DeLorm's 1950 Chevy 3100 Stepside: A Passion Project Turned Reality
When we think of classic American trucks, the 1950 Chevy 3100 Stepside is undoubtedly one that comes to mind. The bold and beautiful truck was built to last and is still a favorite among classic car enthusiasts. Maxwell DeLorm, a Boca Raton native originally from Rochester, NY, had always dreamed of restoring his grandfather's 1950 Chevy truck. After his grandfather's health took a turn for the worse, DeLorm made it his mission to fulfill his grandfather's dream of restoring the truck to its former glory and then some.
DeLorm turned to Austin Patterson, aka Dwight of "Dwight's SpeedShop," who single-handedly took on the project from start to finish. The result is a truck that showcases Patterson's exceptional talent, with a frame-off restoration and period-correct yet modern interior. The patina that everyone loves is the icing on the cake. DeLorm expresses his gratitude, stating, "He may be quiet and humble about his work, but I sure as hell won’t be."
DeLorm's passion project didn't stop there. He had a vision of a perfectly tuned and customized truck, and he knew that he had to seek out the best of the best. "Boosted Creations NY" tuned the truck, while "The Auto Specialist" dialed a beautiful audio system that matches the interior of the truck, yet keeping it period-correct. "Arete Auto Salon" went through every bolt and thread of cloth and ceramic coated the patina'd truck, causing an uproar online. "Cloud9ab" delivered DeLorm's Rotiform wheels, and "Salvage 2 Savage" saved him from vintage air and dialed in a perfect custom Restomod air setup for the Miami heat.
The modifications on this truck are nothing short of impressive. The exterior features a custom paint job and patina, along with a hydraulic lifted wooden truck bed. Under the hood lies an LS 5.7L engine with a Holley Terminator X Management, BTR Stage 3 Cam, and a 92mm Holley Hi Ram. The transmission is a T56 manual with an LS7 Clutch, and the rear end is a shortened Ford 8.8 with 373 Gears. The suspension features an Airlift Performance 3p Dual Compressor Air Management System, Mustang II front suspension with tubular control arms, and a custom rear step C Notch with a triangulated 4 Link. The brakes are Wilwood front and rear with drilled and slotted rotors. The truck sits on Rotiform DNO wheels with diamond back classic white wall tires
The interior is just as impressive, with a B62 Upholstery (Arizona) featuring Carrera Buck Leather with white diamond stitch bench seat, door cards, and roof headliner. The Dakota Digital RTX Gauges, Restomod Air-NUK Quantum Pods with aluminum rings (Heat & A/C Controls), Restomod Bantam S Control Unit, and Restomod Air-Diablo Smooth Vortex Aluminum Dash Vents complete the look. A period-correct Classic Car Stereo with Bluetooth and Sirius XM is the cherry on top..
DeLorm draws inspiration from his grandfather and his own childhood, where he spent countless hours pretending to drive in the driver's seat of the truck in his grandfather's barn. He purchased the truck off of his grandfather in 2013 and spent years thinking about how to make the truck perfect. The truck is built with European influences, showcasing DeLorm's love for Euro cars, and was built with an near endless budget in result of the hard work put in as a traveling nurse due to the COVID pandemic

Andres' 1983 Porsche

We are excited to feature this 1983 Porsche 911! Andres Barriga, originally from Columbia, has built this beauty in beautiful Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
In 2000, Barriga was inspired to build this beauty while working with Porsches. He began working on the build and, like so many of us do, came to set-back after set-back as he progressed. Barriga continued to pursue exceptional work for the upholstery and the paint even as outcomes may not have been desirable at first. Over the course of five years (beginning in 2010), with the support of many friends (and Google), this one-of-a-kind beauty finally came to be.
Barriga's mods include a 964 wide body conversion, RSR style spoiler, Recaro seats recovered on suede and tweed, suede dash and headliner, four-point roll cage, 17x9 17x11.5 HRE wheels, 3.0 liter high compression motor, upgraded cam, headwork, down draft 45mm webers, and headers. Future plans for the car include going fuel injected with a halltech ecu and turbo charging.
Barriga is also working on 2 Honda S2000's and a 1961 Lincoln 4-door Hardtop. His dream cars, though, are a 1972 Skyline and a Toyota 2000GT.
Barriga would like to give a special thanks to his supportive wife, Igor at National Auto Projects, Tailor Made Upholstery, Santos at SD Fabrication and Mad Mods.
Jay's Widebody Z

Jordan “Jay” Romero has invested 2 years in making this unique and beastly 2007 Nissan 350z.“Patience is the biggest factor in all builds” he says, and we applaud him for the patience it took to complete this build.
Jay’s focus has been on anything race car as of late, but his inspiration for this build has been RWBs and Liberty Walks. This build is one of the first Stardast flare kits in the US, but it hasn’t been without struggle. Fitting this onto the NISMO kit had its own challenges, while fitting chunky tires with a nice flush fitment was an entirely separate ordeal. Jay built this care to take out on the town without the fear of being static.
Whats Next: When he is finally finished with this car he is looking to maybe move on to a Blue bird 510, or RX7 Spirit R.
Special thanks: “Thank you to my team & family Rodspeed, Rodwraps and Winterxsunday for some amazing photos.”

Jordan's W202

His dad drove him around in a twin turbo 993 and never failed to see the passion burning in his eyes. Sparking his passion for a body on wheels, Jordan Knowles from Kendall, Florida grew to get his fix from putting in the blood, sweat, and grease we do.
This Mercedes Benz C230 (W202), in Jordan’s words “doesn't have any crazy mods, such as 2jz boosting 28lbs,” but you will do a double take when you see this dropped Benz on 3 piece OZ AMG Aeros with a wood grain Momo steering wheel and a NRG quick release.
Jordan did the majority of the work himself with the help of friends at his dad’s wheel shop. The build took about a year’s time. He hopes to make this a career and will continue working until that goal is accomplished.
Jordan says that the biggest set back on this build was finding the perfect set of wheels. Once he had his eyes on the OZ’s, he had a difficult time finding them because “they are older than me”. He got his inspiration from no where in particular, but looked to the stance scene overall; he wanted to build a car you don’t see every day.
In the future, Jordan hopes to own a C63, following in his father’s footsteps, who currently owns a C43. “It’s a rocket and isn’t as common as an M3.”

Alex Pintado from Boca Raton, FL is the proud owner of this 1993 Nissan 240sx.
Pintado has had this car for 4 years, only making the significant changes this year. He drives his inspiration from years of watching YouTube Japanese street drifting. This is only the beginning for Pintado, though; the build has just begun.
Reflecting back on his biggest milestone, Pintado never thought he’d see a fresh coat of paint on this car. He spent 4 years driving a flat, spray-painted 240sx and had almost given up on ever seeing her with a bit of color. His heart nearly dropped when he got to see the newly painted car for the first time. Next stop? Pintado has his heart ready to drop once more for an SR20 engine swap.
While we have all been there, done that, Pintado deals with the all too familiar struggle to stretch his dollar to perfect his 21 year-old car. He says, “Paint might be nice, but it still leaks when it rains!”
Special Thanks/Shout Outs: “Would like to thank my wonderful fiancé, for her support and helping me when my car was down, and whatever else i put her through. I couldn’t have done it without her. I’d also like to thank my friends for pushing me to things I never thought I’d do.”

Canmar's Lexus ES

Reppin' Miami hard, Canmar Reba built this 2013 Lexus ES 350 in just 1 year. His inspiration and motivation to build so cleanly and quickly are due to the anxiousness to be the first ever to build a clean, fitted ES 350.
Like all of us, he experienced a number of obstacles, but of them all, Canmar quickly learned that "cheap isn't the way to go!" His favorite site for parts, ideas, and inspiration is ClubLexus.com. He has spent countless hours investing in the end result we admire today, but it isn't the last of his plans! In the future, Canmar is looking to get a widebody kit and concave (with lip) wheels. The rest? Canmar prefers to keep that on the downlow and keep you anxious for more. This is his dream car and he wouldn't have it any other way.
Canmar would like to thank/shout out: "my Team (Simplicity Crew) for all the support, Alejandro from Torn Assembly for doing the amazing job in building my wheels, suspension and more, and would also like to thank Kenny from Camsauto for the amazing work on tires, alignment and fitment. Last, but not least, my man Mathew from on point pictures for the amazing work with on all my photoshoots!"

In our first feature from Hawaii EVER, we are excited to show off this one-of-a-kind 2004 s2000, owned and driven by Mike Kimoto of Kaneohe, Hawaii.
Mike took his time on this build (approximately 5 years) and overcame a number of obstacles before he could fully enjoy the benefits of his hard work. Mike's favorite website for parts is none other than the signature distributor, Ebay. As most owners take pride in their vehicle, Mike got an additional boost of pride when his late mother excitedly showed off her son's hard work to friends and family when it was featured in a Hellaflush article.
Mike doesn't have any definite future plans for his s2000. After having to have surpassed a great number of obstacles, he is taking the time to enjoy the aftermath of his endurance. Although his plans for the s2000 are at a standstill, he does dream of building a Porche 911 and setting it up with a widebody kit.
Mike sends a thanks/shout out to: "My parents, Sam from Revision Audio, Kent from Security and Sound, Aaron and his crew at Autotechnics LLC, my friend Rance for hooking me up with KW Autobody, and everyone else that helped me with the build."

A young visionary from South Florida, Ryan Parasam has had big dreams for his 2004 Nissan 350z. This was his first car, and his dream car, at that!
Over the course of two years, Ryan built his car alongside his father, Paul, who watched Ryan's love for the 350z grow since he was a child. Now, his father gets to see his son's dreams come to light!
The major obstacles Ryan faced are his young age and limited income; but what car enthusiast doesn't face the financial obstacle? Other than the inspiration of his own dreams, Ryan often browsed www.my350z.com andwww.stancenation.com for ideas and inspiration.
Ryan's dreams don't stop here, though! In the future, Ryan is looking to build an Evo X - his dreams just keep getting bigger!

Fahrenheit
- Photography: E2 Imagery
- Writer: Ariel Mulchan
Originally from Ontario, Canada, now in Dallas, Texas, Johny Siamro has come a long way. This 2007 Volkswagen Fahrenheit has been in the making since August 2012.
Starting out as a budget car in the hands of a high school kid, upgrading only with secondhand parts, Johny relied on the style and upgrades of others for the build he had in mind. Despite the set back of limited funding, Johny still managed to make it to the 2013 Wekfest show, slammed on bags. Not too shabby for a high school senior!
Growing up with an admiration of Lamborghinis, Johny always dreamed of owning a showstopper. He searched for the right ride and finally found the Fahrenheit. For 5 years, his love for the vehicle grew as he dreamed of owning one in bright orange paint and, finally, he purchased his dream car, knowing there were only 1199 others like it. Johny’s love for the vehicle was too much to hold in because of the rarity of the vehicle and dreams he had for the ride. The day the purchase was made is one he will never forget, as his father introduced him to his dream car and allowed his vision to begin to come to life….only after telling him he would be making the payments! Johny didn’t mind though; he sat in the garage, inside his dream car at least 12 different times the night he brought it home, and that was only the start.
“It is by far the greatest thing I have ever owned and, looking back today, it really did start my addiction to Fahrenheits.”
Today, Johny now owns more Fahrenheits than anyone else in the world - a #1018, #922, and his girlfriends #392 – all because his dad made his dream possible.
Focusing on uniqueness, Johny often ignored the input of others and kept his build to what would please him and inspired by the Stance scene. Johny’s Fahrenheit is still not a finished piece, as his vision continues to run with ideas and creativity. In addition to the limitation of his vision never being fully satisfied, Johny’s budget often produces more creativity than he imagined; to this day, he has never bought a brand new part. Websites used to feed his creativity are VwVortex and DfwEuros, as well as sites like Craigslist.
Johny’s vision will be taking his Fahrenheit to a finished exterior and new paint (still in Orange), but upgrading to wider rear fenders and wider front to run more aggressive wheels. In addition to completing his vision for his own Fahrenheit, Johny is also working on his girlfriend's Fahrenheit, currently getting bags installed, so they can sit pretty together at SoWo in 2014. Johny’s idea of a hot date? Cutting parts to get lower and eating ramen noodles and hot dogs with his girlfriend; all worth it to a girl standing by a visionary’s side.
“It’s worth it in the end when I get to walk away from my car and look back at what I've achieved so far.”
Johny would like to thank David Eerikainen for being an Amazing Photographer; his Mom and Dad for buying the steepest driveway in the neighborhood and forcing him to go bags; and his girlfriend, Amanda Morton, for supporting his addiction the past 4 years and the many that will come.

StanceMiami ELITE Christmas Photos.

Merry Christmas here from StanceMiami. Here are some photos that we took from our latest shoot with our local team here in South Florida. Hope you enjoy them.
Richard's Bagged Element
- Photography: Kevis Mulchan
- Writer: Ariel Mulchan
Richard Tse, from South Florida, is not your average enthusiast. His natural edge for the VIP lifestyle is evident in his elegant 2009 Honda Element SC, a.k.a. Miss Daisy.
This is not Richard’s first attempt taking his inspiration to polish up the look of a Honda Element, though. His first was a 2007 SC with 20” Work Meisters. Although he loved this first work of art, he was starving to build something different, something that he could build solely for himself. After getting a look at the 2009 SC, he was sure that this would feed and refine his inspiration.
Purchased in 2011, Richard spent approximately one and a half years with Miss Daisy to get her geared up to her current state. Miss Daisy has factory navigation, rearview camera, voice command, and integrated iPod hookup, making this Element to be a little bit like Heaven compared to his last.
Starting with some basic mods, Richard cut the bumper reflectors and installed LED lights. After finishing these mods, he kept her stock for about a month. Still in possession of the Work Meisters and the Tein basic coilovers from his first Element, Richard was hesitant to put them on because he wanted to create a different look. After aimlessly researching for the right fit, Richard got impatient. He was then inspired by an Element owner in Japan to use a stiffer spring and revalve the rears to handle the additional spring rate. While waiting for Tein to send his coilovers back, he decided to powdercoat his Work Meisters gloss black. He was later disappointed to find out that the place who did his “powdercoat” actually used paint.
Once the Teins were ready, Richard headed to Marco at Billet Design for some lowering; coilovers and wheels were added at the same time. He knew it was going to rub, but did not expect it to rub that much, so he took a grinder to the rear fender lip, taking off about an inch. Richard then nicknamed her “Miss Daisy” because he had to drive “sLow”.
Additional mods included adding fog lights and a spoiler, then painting the grille, rear tailgate lip, and front middle lower bumper portion gloss black. One obstacle he faced with the mods was his headlight retrofit, changing it about 5 different times without satisfaction. Although he is still not satisfied, he is pleased with the level of expertise and skill of the professional retrofitters.
The biggest obstacle he has faced, however, was the suspension. Richard kept up his research and found that others used suspension designed for an Acura Rsx (dc5). He then ordered his struts from Marshall at Airrex and had them installed at East Coast Garage in Tampa by Doug. Wanting to keep the car as utilitarian as possible, he retained his trunk and spare tire through the install process. Now being content with her current stance and planning to keep her “sitting pretty” for a while, he has a few projects in mind to bring her to the next level.
Richard’s current project is a 1972 VW Bay Window Bus. Although she could use a bit of TLC, his excitement is exuberating with the thought of generating a feeling of nostalgia for some. Otherwise, he already has a color and theme picked out and is ready to have some fun. Richard was also excited to share about his dream car, a Porsche Carrera GT. When asked why this is his dream car, his response was, “Have you heard that thing rev?”
Richard is a frequent visitor to www.elementownersclub.com and www.elementalmotorsports.com for inspiration and to share a mutual love for Elements. Unfortunately, because there is no significant aftermarket support for Elements, he does not have a “go-to” site for parts.
Richard would like to give a shout out to: Chief and the Elemental Motorsports Crew, Marcus at Five-0 Films, Doug at East Coast Garage, and his girlfriend, Erica, for her patience and understanding with his car projects.
Currently playing in his headphones is the Pusha T, Drake, and Eminem album, but he does love to listen to Kid Cudi!

Armando's 1990 240SX
- Photography: Matthew Gomez
- Words: Ariel Mulchan
Armando Alvarez from Miami Lakes, FL has been the proud owner of this 1990 Nissan 240sx for 6 years.
The first 2 years that Armando had her, he and his friend Jorge put in a number of hours that were vital to the beauty she would become today. He spent time fixing her up from some wear and tear, such as a blown head gasket, and also gave her a new roar by swapping the SOHC KA24E for a 1991 DOHC KA24DE. Additional projects included switching the base model wiring to the 240sx SE wiring for power windows and locks, as well as fixing up the rotted trunk by seam welding the car from front to end.
Armando's inspiration was sparked by C's garage kept 180sx and fed by surfing Zilvia.net, 240sxforums.com, Nicoclub.com, Ka-t.org, and Phase2motortrend.com. Like any car, Armando did experience a few bumps in the road during his build; weather and time were working against him, while finding the right parts seemed impossible. Now that Armando has overcome the difficulties, he can stand back and admire a great build.
Armando's dream car is a Caterham 7 Superlight or Porsche 964. He says "both are fun cars to drive, on and off the track." Looking ahead, Armando has it in mind to build an E30 with ITB's or an FD with an LSx swap on the fence about the two.
Armando would like to say a special thanks for the BYM_racing crew, Jorge (owner of JP tuning), and everyone else who has helped with the care and parts.

Adam Pascual from Miami, FL is the proud owner of this 2005 Acura Tsx. It took Adam about 3 months to completely finish his project, and completed it with a set of CCW Im5ts and Airtekk air suspension, a cI9 Honda grill, and an Aspec front lip.
Adam has always admired the Tsx and dreamed of getting a 4 door to experiment with. After finally finishing this project, Adam can look back and say he didn't face any major obstacles during his build, but is looking forward to possibly modifying the interior to black and giving it a VIP style, adding navigation, a euro r grill, and new headlights. His favorite places for inspiration and parts are Craigslist, Stance Works, and Tsxclub.

Phet's Nissan Teana
- Photography: Phet Chansanroj
- Words: Ariel Mulchan
We are excited to bring you this unique Nissan 2010 Teana V6 2.5 CC all the way from Thailand! Phet Chansanroj began this original build at the beginning of the year and has invested a large amount of time into the final product.
Phet originally purchased this car as a family car for him, his wife, and his daughter. Phet had limited time to work on the Teanna, so he dedicated every Friday night to improving and building the car, which proved to be quite an obstacle. When one part did not work or fit/look right, he would have to wait until the following week to continue working on the Teana.
Phet researched the internet for ideas and inspiration, but nothing could separate him from his idea that "fitment" meant to fit the wheels with the stock fender. Although he can admire the VIP style, Phet's style was more of a retro style - exhaust pipe, oil cooler, lip kissing the fender, and the angle of the wheels. Phet was determined to build a unique ride that would catch eyes all across the world.
Phet fell in love with the stance of the car so much that he bagged the Teana so that his wife could drive a bit easier and he would still have the low he loved. Phet is not finished yet and can't wait to finish more work on the car, keeping it clean and looking like a beast.

Alexandre's STI

Alexandre Michaud is the proud owner of this 2011 subara STI all the way from Saint-Georges, Quebec, Canada! Starting with the basics, Alexandre began his build by lowering the car on coilovers with some wheels. As a typical enthusiast, he lowered the car some more (because you can never be too low) and added the front and side lips, as well as a Magnaflow catback. His initial modifications took just 1-2 months!
What is next? Since an enthusiast is never satisfied, Alexandre is looking into some air suspension, a Catless downpipe for a complete TurboBack, a Ecutek tune, a front mount intercooler, and a cold air intake. With so much already completed, Alexandre still has quite a ways to go before he is fully satisfied with his ride! When he finally finishes his build, future projects may be a Nissan GTR r35. But of course, his dream car is a Lamborghini Gallardo because he has always loved the shape of the car and would love to have a twin turbo kit on one!
Favorite sites: Alexandre loves to surf andy's autoparts, hottexhaust, ebay and also visit his local shop for parts and inspiration.
Shoutouts: Special thanks goes out to: Jimmy Boily (Mindsoul Production ) for the photos (video coming soon), E9 ride for the events and Meets, his family and his girl (Claudia), his friends Gooby, Jed, and B-brown, the city of Miami, the Vossen Team for what they did with his Audi Q5 and a BIG thanks to Kevis at StanceMiami!

Stephan Prezzi of Daytona Beach, FL is the proud owner of this 2006 Audi B7 S4 Avant 6mt, photos courtesy of k3projektwheels. Prezzi and his Avant have attended and participated in multiple shows, including Fixxfest 8, Nurotag Orlando, Simply clean 4, Sowo 2012, and Sowo 2013.
Prezzie always wanted an Avant and had to have one once he discovered they were available in stick. Prezzi's enthusiasm is sparked just knowing this is a one of a kind, v8 wagon that will have a few (if not plenty of) heads turning. In Prezzi's words, "It's an amazing and practical car, but sounds like a monster."
Prezzi contacted k3projektwheels when he found out they were looking to shoot a few wagons. After a trip to Daytona, a ton of pouring rain, dead batteries, and very little sleep, the k3projekt team wrapped up the shoot within 48 hours to give us the pleasure of admiring such a unique ride.

Robbie Effron from South Florida drives this slammed 2010 Dodge Charger R/T. Robbie's goal for this ride was to be different; he was tired of seeing Chargers with chrome 22's and was inspired to create something unique.
Taking just over a year to build, Robbie has successfully accomplished created a unique asset to the Charger community. Facing everything from lack of time to lack of financial resources, Robbie finally progressed to the completion of the vision he had for the car.
Robbie does not currently have any future builds in mind, but does plan to continue to add to the Charger to make it the best it can be. Future plans for the Charger are cams, headers, and interior work, such as a new steering wheel and wrapped headliner. Robbie is even considering a supercharger. Perhaps, he may eventually get a chance to own and modify his dream car, a 1969 Dodge Charger R/T.
Special thanks to: Sound Blazers, Elite Roads, and After Hours MOPAR Performance for all the great work they did on the car.

All the way from Tampa, FL, we bring you a double-feature! Alex Laverde is the proud owner of this 2001 Acura Integra and 2004 Honda Ruckus.
Alex is the original owner of the Integra and has operated on this beauty several times. Installing 3 different nitrous kits, 2 turbo manifolds, and a handful of intakes and exhausts, his work has been beautifully executed. Alex took his inspiration for the Integra and invested in building the Ruckus identically over a course of 4 months. His favorite sites for parts are Honda-Tech.com Market Place and Totalruckus.com Grand Bazaar.
From the beginning, Alex faced obstacles - even while purchasing his Integra. When arriving to the dealership, it seemed like he had arrived at the only dealership where a group of salesmen weren't waiting for him. Finally, a sales representative saw the look on Alex's face when he was viewing the Integra and sealed the deal.
Alex plans to freshen up the interior of his Integra and install a brake kit, bigger cams, and shoot for 500hp.
Alex's dream car is a 1963 Chevy Impala with an Ls1 motor. He was always around low riders growing up, but never had the opportunity to own and build his own. Alex hopes that his dreams will become reality and a 1963 Impala will be his next build.
